Identification and Assessment of Existing Local Manufacturing Businesses in the Govan Mbeki Municipality and Surrounding Areas to Supply SASOL Secunda

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Mpumalanga Rural Development Programme (MRDP), in partnership with Sasol, commissioned to identify and assess existing local manufacturing businesses that produced Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and which have the potential to serve as suppliers of PPE to Sasol in Secunda.

Sasol was looking to expand the areas where it can improve its preferential procurement points, with more pointes being earned through procuring from small companies and black-owned companies, especially black, women-owned companies.

The identification of possible suppliers was informed by interviews with Sasol’s management, technical and procurement teams, desktop research to identify potential suppliers and interviews with local manufacturers.
