Changing the Nature of the Western Cape Economy: The Role and Impact of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs)

Mthente was commissioned by the Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDT) in the Western Cape Government to document the impact of tweleve selected Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) on the trajectory of their respective industries within the Western Cape economy.

Through in-depth interviews with CEOs and key representatives in each of the SPVs, the project aimed to move beyond the hard indicators that each SPV is required to report on in order to identify the often less tangible impact and influence that the SPVs have had on their industries and sectors.
