Communicare; a social housing Non Profit Company offering rental accommodation service in the Western Cape, commissioned a Baseline Tenant Demographic Profiling & Customer Satisfaction Survey. This research informed the baseline demographic profile of the current households under the Communicare rental accommodation service offering, as well as provides data on the levels of satisfaction these tenants hold towards the services provided by Communicare.

The objective of the survey was to inform the long-term planning and sustainability of Communicare through ensuring that its policies and programmes are tailored to the needs of its current and prospective tenants.

The survey focused on the following thematic areas: Demographic Information; Household Income; Motivations and Aspirations; Customer satisfaction; Internet Connectivity; Communication Preferences; and Community Development. Out of 3334 housing units, a response rate of 73% was achieved, resulting in 2393 respondents to the survey.
