Khayelitsha Commission: Community Perception Survey
The Commission of Inquiry into allegations of police inefficiency in Khayelitsha commissioned a public perception survey amongst residents on the efficiency and conduct of police in Khayelitsha in November 2013. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with 1,836 Khayelitsha residents in the three SAPS precincts: Khayelitsha, Harare and Lingelethu West. The survey was followed by a qualitative focus group to further explore and analyse research findings. Our research and findings are quoted in the Commission’s final report, “Towards a Safer Khayelitsha,” and our researchers testified before the Commission
